ORNAMENTS/ TOPPERS:

Ornaments can be brought to the bakery between 14-30 days before your wedding or event. Topping cake with ornaments that are too heavy or not secured properly may cause damage to your cake. PICKING UP YOUR CAKE:

Picking up your cake is a great way to save money. If you choose to pick up your cake you should make sure that you have a clean, flat surface to set cake on while driving. Vans, sport utility and any vehicle that the back seat folds in so the air conditioning can make it to the trunk are the best for traveling. If you are in a car, the floor is generally safer than the seat. Most of our cakes are either too large or irregularly shaped to fit in a cake box so you need to take special care to protect them. Once you leave with the cake it is no longer the responsibility of The Bread Basket Bakery.

Common mistakes

Filling out the Cake Contract form can be a straightforward process, but many people make common mistakes that can lead to confusion or complications later on. One frequent error is neglecting to provide complete contact information. It’s essential to include your name and at least two phone numbers. Without this information, the bakery may struggle to reach you for important updates or changes.

Another mistake is misunderstanding the deposit requirements. Some individuals assume that paying the $75 booking deposit is all that’s needed to secure their date. However, it’s crucial to remember that this deposit is non-refundable and only reserves the date when accompanied by a signed contract. Missing this step can lead to disappointment if the date is booked by someone else.

People often overlook the down payment and final payment deadlines as well. It’s important to note that a 50% down payment is due two months prior to the event. If the contract is signed within two months, this payment is due immediately. Failing to make these payments on time can jeopardize your cake order, as the bakery will not make the cake without full payment received two weeks before the event.

Another common issue arises when making changes to the cake order. Many individuals wait until the last minute to request modifications, but changes can only be accepted until two weeks before the event. After this lockout date, no adjustments can be made, which can lead to disappointment if the cake doesn’t meet your expectations.

Additionally, some people fail to understand the delivery and setup charges. The $30 delivery fee applies only within a five-mile radius of the bakery. If your venue is farther away, additional charges will apply. Not being aware of these fees can lead to unexpected costs on the day of your event.

Finally, it’s essential to provide accurate information regarding flowers and ornaments. Some individuals forget to specify their preferences or fail to communicate with their florist. This can result in mismatched colors or styles. Clear communication about what you want will help ensure that your cake looks exactly as you envisioned it.

Documents used along the form

When planning a special event, several documents accompany the Cake Contract to ensure everything goes smoothly. Each document serves a unique purpose, helping both the bakery and the client stay organized and informed. Below is a list of common forms that are often used alongside the Cake Contract.

  • Order Confirmation Form: This document confirms the details of the cake order, including flavors, sizes, and any special requests. It serves as a final check to ensure that both the client and the bakery are on the same page before the cake is made.
  • Payment Agreement: This form outlines the payment schedule, including the deposit, down payment, and final payment due dates. It clarifies the amounts owed and helps prevent any misunderstandings regarding financial obligations.
  • Cancellation Policy Acknowledgment: Clients must acknowledge the cancellation policy to ensure they understand the terms regarding deposits and refunds. This document helps manage expectations in case of unforeseen changes.
  • Delivery Agreement: This form specifies the delivery details, including the date, time, and location. It also outlines any additional fees for delivery outside of the standard area, ensuring clarity for both parties.
  • Design Approval Form: This document allows clients to approve the final design of the cake. It may include sketches or descriptions to ensure the cake meets the client's vision before baking begins.
  • Floral Arrangement Agreement: If the bakery is responsible for adding flowers to the cake, this form details the types and colors of flowers to be used. It ensures that the client's preferences are communicated and documented.
  • Topper and Ornament Release: This form outlines the guidelines for any toppers or ornaments provided by the client. It protects the bakery from liability in case of damage to the cake or decorations added by someone other than their staff.
  • Pickup Instructions: This document provides guidelines for clients who choose to pick up their cakes. It includes tips for safely transporting the cake and emphasizes the bakery's limited responsibility once the cake leaves their premises.

These forms and documents work together to create a seamless experience for clients planning their special events. By understanding each document's purpose, clients can navigate the process with confidence and clarity.
